
- My Cake Just Arrived. Now What?
- If you plan to serve it within the next 24 hours, just put it in the refrigerator or keep at room temperature. The cake can stay at room temperature up to four days. If you plan to hold onto it for a while, wrap it really well in aluminum foil or plastic wrap and freeze it. Or, cut it in half and enjoy some of it immediately, then freeze the other half to enjoy at a later date. The cake can be frozen for up to six months. Allow five to six hours to thaw before serving.
- How Long Can I Freeze It?
- If you wrap it well in aluminum foil or plastic prior to freezing, it will be good for six months!
- How Should I Serve It?
- You can serve the rum cake warm, or at room temperature, or right out of the refrigerator. To heat it, place individual slices in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds. You can add a scoop of ice cream and some raspberries, as well! Indulge!
- Are There Nuts In This Cake?
- Yes. This cake contains pecans (or almonds). If you have a nut allergy or if you think you may have a nut allergy of any kind, do not eat this product. Rum Cakes without nuts are available by special order. Just contact Kelli at kelli@rumcakesbykelli.com or 1-888-339-CAKE (2253).
- Is There Alcohol In This Cake?
- Yes and no. I use real rum in the recipe but the alcohol bakes out. Still, if you have sensitivity to alcohol, you should not eat this product.
